豊福博の作品は、備前焼という日本最古級の焼物文化を背景に持ちながら、その伝統を単なる工芸技術として継承するのではなく、現代社会における「身体性」や「物質性」の問題へ接続している点において、極めて現代的な意味を持っている。また、器としての用途性や完成された均整美から意図的に距離を取り、「土そのものが持つ構造」や「素材に内包された時間性」を主題化している点で独自性が際立っている。
Rooted in Bizen ware—one of Japan’s oldest ceramic traditions—Toyofuku Hiroshi’s practice does not simply inherit traditional craftsmanship, but reinterprets it through contemporary concerns with corporeality and materiality. Deliberately distancing his work from functional vessels and ideals of formal perfection, he foregrounds the intrinsic structure of clay itself and the sense of time embedded within the material, giving his practice a distinctive place in contemporary ceramics.
