出品作品について
工芸による表現の限界に挑む作家を紹介する。古賀真弥の金工作品は属装飾や仕上げの伝統技法を用い、時代を超えた魅力を放つ。南繁樹はロクロで成形した白磁の表面に、光と影が織りなす立体感を演出した複雑で精密な幾何学文様を削り出す。刺繍する犬は、ラップトップ、iPhone、電子回路基板などのデジタルデバイスや素材を、刺繍で表現している。

YOD Galleryは、作家と共に新しい価値観、表現を国内外へ積極的に発信していくことを使命とし2008年に設立しました。芸術表現がグローバル化の傾向にある今、日本にあるプライマリー・ギャラリーとして改めて日本人のアイデンティティを見直し、世界に提示することのできる独自の芸術観を持った作家を紹介しています。大阪・東京から世界に向けて次世代の文化の発信地として機能するべく様々な活動を行います。

About exhibited works
YOD Gallery presents artworks by rising artists from Kansai and western Japan. These creators have mastered traditional Japanese craft, and are reinventing the boundaries of expression that are achievable with their chosen medium. Masaya Koga’s gorgeous copper works also encompass traditional metalwork and patina, the latter of which is especially effective in giving the pieces a timeless appeal. Shigeki Minami’s work is known for the complex and precise geometric patterns that creates a three-dimensional effect woven by light and shadow on the surface of white porcelain molded by potter’s wheel. Stitch Dog reproduces digital devices and materials such as laptops, iPhones, and electronic circuit boards through embroidery.
Gallery concept
YOD Gallery was established in 2008 as a contemporary art gallery branch of Yodo Gallery, with a mission to present a new sense of value and expression to and from Japan. It has been supporting local art scenes and emerging artists working with new media, including video, photography, and installation.
