ARTIST INFORMATION

1974年埼玉県さいたま市生まれ。笠間焼の大津廣司氏に師事し、2022年に茨城県に自身の窯を開設。東京、スイス、アメリカなどで作品を発表。数々の賞を受賞しており、特に2014年には長蔵賞を受賞。2017年には神戸アートマルシェの公募展「Artists meets Gallery」に選出され、芦屋画廊にて初の個展を開催。
山への愛着からインスピレーションを得た作品は、室町時代に起源を持つとされる伝統的な「盆山」を現代的に解釈し、日本の宇宙観を現代的に蘇らせたものである。

Born in Saitama City in 1974, the artist studied under Kasama ware master Hiroshi Otsu and established his own kiln in Ibaraki in 2022. He exhibits in Tokyo, Switzerland, and the U.S. He is an award-winning artist, notably receiving the Chozo Prize (2014). In 2017, his selection for the public exhibition “Artists meets Gallery” at KOBE ART MARCHE led to his first solo exhibition at ASHIYAGARO.
His works, inspired by his love for mountains, are a modern interpretation of the traditional “Bonzan” (Tray Mountains), which are said to have originated in the Muromachi period, representing a contemporary revival of Japanese cosmic art.
