ARTIST INFORMATION
1953年大阪生まれの栩山孝は、1979年に嵯峨美術短期大学版画科を卒業。
1996年には伊丹市芸術家協会新人賞を受賞など、多くのコンクールで受賞を重ねる。デンマークでアーティストとしてのレジデンスを経験。以降、鉄錆を 使った版画やミクストメディアを発表。今回出品の香炉の落ち着いた色合いは、錆びた鉄材で作られ、まるで枯れた樹木のようにも見え、時と共に風化した趣を感じられる。栩山ならではの奥深さは、作品テーマである「時間の積み重なり、時間と時間の間の空間」を作品の中に見ることで、より鮮明になってくる。
Born in Osaka in 1953, Takashi Tochiyama graduated from the Department of Printmaking at Saga Junior College of Art in 1979.
He has won numerous awards in various competitions, including the New Artist Award from the Itami City Artists Association in 1996. He experienced an artist residency in Denmark. Since then, he has presented print works and mixed media using iron rust. The subtle colors of the incense burner exhibited this time are created from rusted iron, resembling a withered tree, and convey a sense of weathering over time. Tochiyama’s unique depth becomes clearer when viewing his work through its theme: “The accumulation of time, and the space between times.
