ARTIST INFORMATION
1894年4月5日にソウルで生まれ、1909年に宝城中学校を卒業した。 1911年、ソウル墨井洞に日本人富田基作が建てた「漢陽高麗所」で働きながら陶磁器製作を学び始めた。 高麗青磁を再現するため、全国の昔の窯跡を調査し、材料について研究した。 1955年、韓国造形文化研究所の城北童謡KilnofKoreanArtSocietyと1956年、韓国美術品研究所の大方童謡で彫刻長を務め、1967年に海江高麗青磁研究所を設立し、1990年には長男のユ・グァンヨルと共に海江陶磁美術館を建設した。
Born in Seoul on April 5, 1894, he graduated from Boseong Middle School in 1909. In 1911, he began to learn how to make ceramics while working at Hanyang Goryeoso, which was established by the Japanese Domita Gijak in Mukjeong-dong, Seoul. In order to reproduce Goryeo celadon, old kiln sites across the country were investigated and materials were studied. In 1955, he worked as a sculptor at the Seongbuk Children of Korean Art Society of the Korea Institute of Sculpture and Daebang Children’s Song of the Korea Art Institute in 1956, and in 1990, he established the Haegangja Art Museum with his eldest son, Yoo Kwang-yeol.
