金沢市生まれ。
外国人の住まいをメインとしたインテリアデザイナーを経て、箔デザイナー（登録商標）として活動を始め、国内外の展示会で作品を発表している。古代から神秘的なシーンで使われてきた金箔を、インテリアの視点から現代のライフスタイルに合った形でデザインし、住居スペースだけではなく、パブリックスペースまで幅広く作品を提案。人を和ませ、かつエネルギーを与える「光」の魅力を追求する。
Ai Takaoka is an acclaimed designer whose work has been shown internationally, and whose works are displayed in Japan’s premier hotels.
Her work can be viewed at her gallery, Enishira, in Kanazawa.
To highlight the power of gold leaf,
Takaoka created an installation of various works throughout a large urban hospital.
The resulting environment of healing and warmth, calm and inner strength not only thrilled the client,
but perfectly complimented the space.
