ARTIST INFORMATION

1969年アメリカ・オハイオ州クリーブランド生まれ。1998年タフツ大学大学院にて美術学修士（MFA／絵画）取得。
近年の展覧会にヒツジ画廊（新潟、2024–2025）、ホールウォール・ギャラリーズ（ボストン、2023）など。
彼の作品は、SF的想像力に基づく動物像を、デジタルと手作業を融合したプロセスで制作する。3Dモデリングソフトで設計したデータを3Dプリンタで出力し、完成後に手作業で分割・再構成して新たな造形に変化させる。
こうした彫刻は、想像上の生命体を視覚的に探求するために、アナログとデジタル技術がもたらす新たな創造の可能性を提示している。

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 1969. Received his MFA in Painting from Tufts University in 1998.
Recent exhibitions include Hitsuji Garo (Niigata, 2024–2025) and Hallwalls Galleries (Boston, 2023).
Len Thomas-Vickory’s works explore sci-fi-inspired creatures through a hybrid process combining digital and handmade techniques. Using 3D modeling software, he creates digital sculptures which are then 3D-printed layer by layer. Once printed, the objects are cut by hand and reconstructed into new, slightly altered forms. This fusion of analog and digital processes allows the artist to investigate unfamiliar forms that feel both strange and familiar.
The recurring motif of two-headed ducks evokes animals transformed through a fictional black hole. These sculptures reference Cubist abstraction and prehistoric life, offering new visual perspectives on imagined organisms and the methods used to create them.
