ARTIST INFORMATION
1985年兵庫生まれ。幼少期に親しんだ少年マンガの主人公たちの屈強な肉体と、理想の身体を追求し創られたギリシャ彫刻やミケランジェロの石彫を重ね、漫画やアニメの平面的な表現と立体的な彫刻の折衷点としての石彫作品を制作する。近年、身近な人物の何気ない日常をモニュメンタルな出来事と捉え、石彫で記録するレリーフ作品を展開している。
Born in 1985 in Hyogo. Drawing on the muscular physiques of the protagonists of the shōnen manga he grew up with, as well as Greek sculptures and Michelangelo’s stone carvings created in pursuit of the ideal human body, he creates stone sculptures that explore a point of convergence between the two-dimensional representations of manga and anime and the three-dimensionality of sculpture. In recent years, he has developed a series of relief works that document the seemingly mundane everyday moments of people close to him, treating these ordinary occurrences as monumental events through stone carving.
