現代美術作家。福岡県出身。合板やアクリル板を幾重にも積層してひとつのブロック体を作り、そこからテーマとなるかたちを削り出す独自の技法で制作を続ける。魅せること、評価されることを目的とせず、ただ自らの制作のための制作として、長年ひとり工房に向き合ってきた。流行や他者の視線から切り離された場所で、生まれ出ようとするものの輪郭をたどる。沈黙のうちに積み重ねた時間そのものが、作品の核を為している。
A contemporary artist from Fukuoka, Japan. Comic 9 builds a single solid block by layering sheets of plywood and acrylic, then carves the chosen form out of that mass—a distinctive technique sustained over many years. Seeking neither to captivate nor to be evaluated, the artist has worked alone in the studio, making solely for the sake of making. Set apart from trends and from the eyes of others, the hand traces the contours of something striving to come into being. The time quietly accumulated in that silence is itself the core of the work.
