ARTIST INFORMATION
Born in Takamatsu, Kagawa, and based in Tokyo. Immediately after graduating from the Osaka Designer College, she began working as a freelance painter, and has since exhibited widely overseas—in New York, Los Angeles, London, Taipei, and Hong Kong. To give form to the visions that have welled up within her since childhood, she has established a distinctive style: carving directly into wooden panels and, without any preliminary drawing, applying color with oil-based pigments, sumi ink, and traditional Japanese painting materials. Convinced that the true purpose of art is to awaken the ancient memory shared by all living beings and to rouse the power of imagination, she devotes herself to her practice each day.
