コンセプト
今回の展示で虎の様々な姿を描いた銀彩杯を披露する。昔の美術品で虎は滑稽に、時には厳粛な姿で登場する。作家は敬畏の対象だった虎を滑稽に表現し、私たちの周りの悪い気運から守ってくれるという願いを込めた。
自然な魅力が特徴である粉青陶磁器の表面に銀を塗った、ほのかに輝く銀彩杯である。作家は昔の趣が感じられる物、自然、そして周辺のささやかな日常の姿を陶磁器の杯に愛情を込めて絵を描く。
- 粉青
粉青は韓国陶磁器技法の一つで、暗い土の上に白い土を塗って制作する。表現の境界が決まっていないため、自由奔放な魅力が特徴だ。プロフィール
作家ホ・サンウクは粉青沙器に魅了され、約25年間粉青沙器だけを作業してきた。作家にとって白い土をこそげる行為は、自分を探していく過程であり、日常の些細な楽しみである。現在まで12回の個展を開き、2017アメリカ・フィラデルフィア工芸ショー、2015清州国際工芸ビエンナーレなど多数の団体展に参加した。彼の作品はイギリスのビクトリア&アルバート博物館、ポーランドの国立民俗博物館など国際的に所蔵されている。
Concept
These are silver painted cups depicting various shapes and expressions of tigers. In many of the artworks from the past, tigers appeared solemnly and sometimes humorously. The artist expresses the tigers with humor, with a hope that the tiger will protect us from the bad energy around us.
- Buncheong
Buncheong, one of the Korean ceramic techniques, is made by applying liquefied white clay over dark clay.
With limitless ways to express, it is characterized by its unique and wild charm.Profile
Artist Huh Sang-wook was fascinated by the charm of Buncheong and spent more than 25 years with Buncheong. For the artist, the act of scraping white clay is a process of finding oneself and a small joy in daily life. He held 12 solo exhibitions, and participated in a number of group exhibitions, including the 2017 Philadelphia Craft Show, US; 2015 Cheongju International Craft Biennale, Korea. His works are displayed in international collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in England and the National Museum of Folklore in Poland.
