1973 群馬県生まれ 2003 東京藝術大学院博士後期課程鍛金研究室修了、博士学位取得 2003~2005 同大学にて非常勤講師 2005~2008 金沢卯辰山工芸工房にて研修 2010~2012 金沢大学非常勤講師 2011~2012 金沢美術工芸大学非常勤講師 2013~2018 金沢卯辰山工芸工房専門員 2019~ テーブルウェア大賞 大賞・経済産業大臣賞

Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1973.In 2003,Sakai completed the doctoral course in metal hammering at Tokyo University of the Arts and obtained a PhD.
From 2003 to 2005,he worked as a guest lecturer at the same university and, from 2005 to 2008, trained at Kanazawa Utatsuyama Kogei Kobo(Craft Workshop).
From 2010 to 2012,he worked as a lecturer at the Kanazawa University and, from 2011 to 2012 , Kanazawa College of Art.
From 2013 to 2018, Kanazawa Utatsuyama Kogei Kobo(Craft Workshop)studio coordinator. From 2019~,Tohoku University of Art and Design Associate professor. Sakai currently works in Kanazawa.
