藤田朋一は、アクリル樹脂を用いた「組み木造り」のような独自の技法で、日本の伝統的な意匠と現代的なテーマが交差する作品です。
一方、岡村悠紀は、陶器による細部まで精巧に可動する「自在置物」の蟹を制作。
可動部にはシリコンゴムやセーム革なども使用し、現代における工芸の新たな可能性を追求しています。
ギャラリーコンセプト
近年、工芸の世界ではレーザーカットや3Dプリントなどの先端技術を取り入れた新たな表現が生まれています。伝統技法への敬意を礎としながら現代の技術や感性を融合させることで、日本工芸の可能性はさらに広がっています。Gallery MARUHIは、こうした挑戦を続ける若手作家を発掘・紹介し、伝統と革新が響き合う作品を通じて工芸の新たな価値を発信します。

About exhibited works
Tomokazu Fujita creates works that intersect traditional Japanese design with contemporary themes, utilizing a unique technique reminiscent of kumiki (interlocking woodwork) crafted from acrylic resin.
Meanwhile, Yuki Okamura produces "Jizai Okimono" (articulated figures) of crabs, meticulously crafted from ceramics with intricate, functional joints. By incorporating materials such as silicone rubber and chamois leather into the moving parts, Okamura explores new possibilities for contemporary craftsmanship.

In recent years, the world of kogei (crafts) has seen the emergence of new expressions that incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as laser cutting and 3D printing. By fusing modern techniques and sensibilities with a profound respect for traditional methods, the possibilities for Japanese craftsmanship continue to expand. Gallery MARUHI is dedicated to discovering and promoting young artists who embrace these challenges. Through our exhibitions, we strive to showcase works where tradition and innovation resonate with each other, thereby disseminating new values in contemporary craft.
