ARTIST INFORMATION
1976年千葉県生まれ。1997年飛騨国際工芸学園木工科卒。確かな木工技術をベースに、神社仏閣など伝統建築から着想を得た立体作品を制作。2021年岡本太郎現代美術賞展入選。日本橋高島屋等での個展や千葉県立美術館での企画展のほか、羽田空港第3ターミナル内施設のファサードデザインも手掛ける。近年はアクリルを用いた作品も展開し、伝統的な木組み様式と現代美術を融合させた独自の造形表現を追求している。
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1976. Graduated from the Woodworking Department of Hida International Industrial Arts Academy in 1997. Based on solid woodworking techniques, he creates three-dimensional works inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, such as shrines and temples. In 2021, he was selected for the 24th Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art. Along with solo exhibitions at Nihombashi Takashimaya and curated exhibitions at the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art, he also designed the facade for a facility inside Haneda Airport Terminal 3. In recent years, he has expanded his practice to include works using acrylic, pursuing a unique sculptural expression that merges traditional wooden joinery styles with contemporary art.
