ガラスの性質によって現れる割れの現象は、ガラスが自身に刻む動きの表れであり、巡る自然や移り変わる万物と同じように、流れを続ける世界の一端であると考える。素材の性質が映すそうした表情を起点に、人の用途を離れた先のガラスを想い、表現へと繋げている。

I view the cracking patterns that emerge due to the nature of glass as an expression of the movement inherent within the glass itself; just as with the cyclical nature of the natural world and the ever-changing nature of all things, I consider them to be a part of the ever-flowing world. Taking these expressions—which reflect the material’s inherent properties—as my starting point, I envision glass beyond its practical human uses and translate that vision into artistic expression.
