1978: 日本陶芸展　グランプリ受賞
1988: ソウル・オリンピック芸術祭（ソウル）参加
: 1978年以降　新潟、東京などで個展開催

黒陶という技法を使って作品を作っている。土を燻して黒く焼き上げる、
古くから使われていた技法で決して特別な技法ではないが、形を表現するのに
適した素朴な技法で私は好きだ。焼き上がったときの存在感のある黒い色もいい。
自分に合っていると思う、気づけば40年来の付き合いだ。
でもいつも思う本当に大切なのは、その技法を使って何を作るのかということを。

I create my pieces using a technique called black pottery. It’s an ancient technique that smokes the clay and fires it black, and while it’s not particularly special, I like it because it’s a simple technique that’s well-suited to expressing shapes. I also like the bold black color that appears when the piece is fired.
I think it suits me, and I’ve been using it for 40 years now.
But I always think about what’s really important: what you create using that technique.
