北浦は陶土と釉薬で独特の世界観の焼き物を、家山は磁器とガラスを一緒に焼くという珍しい技法で、友寄はミシンを使って有機的で不思議な作品を、田邊は鍛金という技法で金属を叩いて成形したオブジェを、矢作は木工と漆でキノコをモチーフに女性美を表現します。
陶芸、金工、刺繍、漆芸とバラエティに富んだ作品内容で若手工芸作家の今を感じていただきたいと思います。

アート作品を見て頂く場を提供し、創造活動の素晴らしさを伝えるとともに、次世代を担う若手アーティストが世に出るきっかけとなるよう助力いたします。
また、公募展などを積極的に開催し、アーティストにチャンスの場を提供します。
ここ大阪の北区芝田の地は、以前は芝田町という地名でした。その懐かしい芝田町という地名をギャラリー名に冠し、伝統や良いものを残しつつ、新しい文化の発展に寄与いたします。

About exhibited works
Kitaura creates pottery with a unique aesthetic using clay and glazes; Ieyama employs a rare technique of firing porcelain and glass together; Tomoyose uses a sewing machine to create organic and mysterious works; Tanabe creates metal objects by hammering and shaping metal using the metalworking technique of “tankin”; and Yahagi expresses feminine beauty through mushroom motifs using woodworking and lacquer.
With a diverse range of works including ceramics, metalwork, embroidery, and lacquerware, we hope you will get a feel for the current state of young craftspeople.
Gallery concept
Gallery Shibatacho provides artists with a place and opportunities to showcase their art work.
Our mission is to deliver the greatness of creative activities through art exhibitions, and to support young artists through our own projects such as young artist support program and open call exhibitions.
The gallery space is located in Kita-ku Shibata, which once was called Shibata-cho. Bearing the old name of the district, we aim to contribute to cultural development while inheriting the good essence of what is current and traditional.
