ARTIST INFORMATION
1974年生まれ。石川県挽物轆轤技術研修所を経て、父・本間幸夫に師事。漆掻きから木工、漆芸まで一貫して自身で手がける。「国際漆展・石川2020」大賞、「清洲国際工芸コンペティション2021」銀賞、LOEWE財団クラフトプライズ2023ファイナリスト、「第15回 創造する伝統賞」受賞。Sarah Myerscough Galleryより主要アートフェアで発表。V&A博物館(ロンドン)などに収蔵。
Born in 1974. Trained at the Ishikawa Woodturning Technical Training Center and apprenticed under his father, Yukio Honma. Independently oversees all aspects of practice, from urushi tapping and woodturning to lacquering and finishing. Recipient of the Grand Prize at the Ishikawa International Urushi Exhibition(2020), Silver Prize at the Cheongju International Craft Competition (2021), finalist in the 2023 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, and awarded the 15th Creative Traditional Arts Award(2024). Represented by Sarah Myerscough Gallery (London), with works presented at major international art fairs. Included in public collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
