ARTIST INFORMATION
ともに金沢市を拠点に活動する陶芸家の戸出雅彦と、墨絵画家の真釦によるアーティストユニット。ろくろを使った器型の造形を戸出が、手びねりによる立体造形を真釦が主に担当し、絵付もそれぞれが得意分野を分担して行う。完成まで造形、焼成、絵付などの段階をふむ中、一つの作品を自宅で制作し出来たら相手に渡すという過程を繰り返すため、その都度お互いの技術や発想に驚嘆し合い、笑い合う。相手の想像を超えようとするそのコミュニケーションから生まれる作品は、規格外かつ軽妙洒脱なセンスで、ユーモアに溢れるものばかりである。
An artist unit consisting of Toide Masahiko, a potter, and Shin button, an painter, based in Kanazawa. Toide is mainly in charge of the pottery molding using a potter’s wheel, while Shin button is mainly in charge of the hand-built modeling, and each of them also paints in their own specialty. As they go through the steps of modeling, firing, and painting, they repeatedly touch up a work at home and hand it to the other artist when it is finished, each time marveling and laughing at the other’s skills and ideas. The works that emerge from this communication, in which each tries to exceed the other’s imagination, are all out of the ordinary, witty, stylish, and full of humor.
