ARTIST INFORMATION
1988年生まれ。2011年京都精華大学卒業。「物質の実存の固定と拡張」をコンセプトに木材と樹脂を用いて、素材そのもの自体を、絵画的に意識を拡げる彫刻のシリーズを制作。大阪に自身の製作所を構え、職人としての一面も持ち合わせる。日頃から「用」と「鑑賞」そのどちらにも触れる河原の表現に立ち会うことで、来場者が工芸について考えを巡らすきっかけとなれば幸いです。
Born in 1988, graduated from Kyoto Seika University in 2011. He produces a series of sculptures using wood and resin based on the concept of “fixation and expansion of the existence of matter,” expanding awareness of the materials themselves in a pictorial way. He also has his own factory in Osaka, where he also works as a craftsman. We hope that visitors to the exhibition will be inspired to think about crafts by experiencing Kawahara’s expression, which touches on both “use” and “appreciation” on a daily basis.
