ARTIST INFORMATION
1978年熊本県に生まれる。2001年より独学での切り絵制作を開始。
のちに刺繍との複合技法という全く類例を見ない複雑な技法から展覧会開催は多くはないが、13年「14thSICF」南條史生受賞。22年9月公立美術館デビューを国立工芸館にて果たす。「手芸」であった表現を「工芸」という領域に引きあげたその功績は注目に値する。
Born in Kumamoto, Japan in 1978, began self-taught paper cutout production in 2001.
Although has not had many exhibitions due to his complex and unprecedented technique of combining embroidery and paper cut-outs, was awarded the Nanjo Fumio Prize at the 14th SICF in 2013.
In September 2022, made public museum debut at the National Crafts Museum.
His achievements in elevating expression from the realm of “”SHUGEI”” to that of “”KOGEI”” are worthy of note.
