林戎依 (リン　ロンイ）

Lin Jung Yi, hailing from Taitung and belonging to the Amis tribe of Taiwan, is also known by her tribal name, Halomei. She graduated from the Institute of Ethno Arts at Donghua University. From her high school days, Lin was deeply involved in art studies. In 2011, she delved into the traditional barkcloth art of the Amis tribe, thoroughly studying its cultural context and production techniques, aiming to integrate this indigenous art with contemporary textile aesthetics. By 2012, Lin had earned a residency as an artist at the Taiwan Prehistoric Culture Museum, subsequently showcasing her works at places like Zhongyou Department Store and the Thirteen Heng Museum. To seamlessly integrate barkcloth art into everyday life, Lin established the “Unique Tapa” studio in 2015, focusing on crafting a variety of barkcloth products that have since been displayed and sold in Bangkok, Beijing, Tokyo, and France.
