岡部賢亮は、未だ明確なかたちや意味を持たない存在を一貫して探求しています。作品に現れる存在は、人のようでありながら特定の属性に還元されず、感情や役割も定義されないまま静かに佇みます。それらは、言葉や定義に先立つ曖昧な状態や、他者と繋がろうとする不確かな感覚を内包しています。本展は岡部の個展として、この思考と表現を集約し、ジェスモナイトという素材を通して、未だ定義されない存在の輪郭を提示します。

About exhibited works
Kensuke Okabe consistently explores the existence of forms that have yet to acquire a clear shape or meaning. The presences that appear in his work seem human-like, yet cannot be reduced to specific attributes, remaining quietly poised without defined emotions or roles. They embody a state that precedes language and definition, containing an ambiguous sense of attempting to connect with others.
This exhibition, presented as a solo show by Okabe, brings together this line of thought and practice, and through the material of Jesmonite, proposes the contours of an existence that remains undefined.
Gallery concept
Contemporary art reflects changes in society while also generating new values and sensibilities. COMBINE / BAMI gallery presents the practices of artists living in the present, grounded in Japanese aesthetics and Asian cultural contexts. “BAMI” signifies a place where experiences, emotions, and cultures intersect, and functions as a framework that fosters the creation, sharing, and critical development of artistic expression. Through these activities, the gallery explores the possibilities of contemporary art while traversing both regional and international contexts.
