ARTIST INFORMATION
Born in Aichi, Japan and studied at Tokyo University of the Arts, and got her BA in the Department of Crafts in 2020. Fascinated by the beauty of the unique white colour of porcelain, she creates works with living creatures by hand-carving porcelain clay.
While in university, she was deeply impressed by the elegant and delicate porcelain works of her professors and seniors, at the same time she realized that the number of young artists was decreasing. Influenced by her childhood experience of living in England, where porcelain production is flourishing, she decided to become a ceramic artist. Based in a small studio and residence in Nagoya, she creates works that resonate with the heart while emphasizing the “healing” element that touches the soul.
