ARTIST INFORMATION
1981年岐阜県生まれ。金沢美術工芸大学 大学院 博士後期課程 美術工芸研究科 工芸研究領域 漆・木工コース 修了（芸術博士号取得・学長賞）。現在、金沢美術工芸大学助教。ミネアポリス美術館（ミネアポリス、ミネソタ）、徳島県立近代美術館（徳島）、湖北美術館（武漢、中国）、他収蔵。不安や孤独を抱えながらも強く逞しく生きる「愛おしい人間の存在」を、強くて美しい漆という素材を用いて表現している。
Chie Aoki was born in Gifu prefecture in 1981. She received a Ph. D. from Kanazawa College of Art, and is currently an assistant professor at Kanazawa College of Art. Collections include: Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Tokushima Modern Art Museum, Tokushima, Japan; Hubei Museum of Art, Wuhan, China and more. By using urushi lacquer, a strong and striking material, she expresses the “existence of precious pitiful human beings” who live so powerfully and vigorously while bearing their burden of anxiety and solitude.
