Tokuda Yasokichi Ⅰ

1873-1956
Born into a household specializing in dye in Komastu, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Studied Japanese painting with Araki(Kano)Tanrei, and Yamamoto Eiki.
1890 Joined Shoundo, a Kutani ware studio, and studied porcelain-decorating.
1917 began to use the Yasokichi mark.
1893 Studied glazes used in Kokutani style wares and at the Yoshidaya kiln, and then created new type ofglazes.
1953 Be designated an intangible cultural property(Living National Treasure)for his skills in decorating Kutani ware.
